Many readers will watch the video below, which has been doing the email rounds recently, and have a visceral reaction. That reaction will not be positive. Many will fume at what they perceive as the parasitic nature of the Haredi lifestyle in Israel.
This Friday, however, we ask, how different is the Haredi request for money from the requests made by the UIA, Keren Kayemet, and myriad other non-religious charities that raise money for Israel – a first world, high tech, entrepreneurial country.
Is it so different to give money to such a country while local programmes are under funded or not funded at all?
